Sleep Apnea may be the Cause of Your Poor Quality Sleep

Sleep apnea is associated with many other harmful health risks but is highly treatable with the help of our experienced dentist. An inability to maintain constant and even breathing when sleeping can be caused by one of two issues, but the most common form of sleep apnea is obstructive. Obstructive sleep apnea occurs when soft tissue collapses and covers the airways at the back of the throat. Patients experiencing this condition usually display the following signs:

  • Feeling fatigue of lethargic even when just waking up after a full night slumber
  • Constant loud snoring, disturbing normal sleep patterns for you and those around you
  • Halted breathing or shortness of breath

Dr. Green and his professional staff understand how problematic this could be as it affects your job and home. After confirming your diagnosis, we devise a comprehensive treatment plan to provide you the care you need and deserve.

Personalized and Convenient Sleep Apnea Diagnosis in Dayton, OH

If you suspect you have sleep apnea, Dr. Green provides you with a monitor to be studied in the comfort of our own home. You must wear this device for two days and come back to the office for the results to be analyzed. Based on the form and severity of sleep apnea, a treatment is designed accordingly. However, if the study discovers you are suffering from severe sleep apnea, you may be referred to a physician to receive specialized care.

For patients who have an obstructive sleep disorder, we provide an oral appliance. For those diagnosed with central sleep apnea, we offer Phillips Restronic DreamWear. This mask is designed to be more comfortable than a regular CPAP machine, so those who could not tolerate the latter can wear this device.
